Irish Freemasonry found a niche in Western India, particularly during the colonial era, where its influence intertwined with the social and economic landscape of the region. Its presence contributed to the multicultural fabric of Western India, attracting individuals from diverse backgrounds who found common ground in the principles of Freemasonry. It is ideally represented thus by Lodge Nowroze Wadia No. 804 I.C., a distinguished Masonic institution, was established with a Warrant on June 8, 1958, and consecrated on October 27, 1958. The Lodge, named after the esteemed Late Bro. Nowrosjee (Nowroze) Wadia — Founder of Bombay Dyeing and notable public servant — . Today, Lodge Nowroze Wadia No. 804 I.C. remains a vibrant testament to the visionary ideals of its founders and namesake, upholding the values of fellowship, enlightenment, and philanthropy that are the cornerstone of Freemasonry. The Lodge has contributed two Provincial Grand Masters to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Ireland in India, and has a diverse and notable membership. It is the youngest Irish Lodge in Mumbai.
