To become a Freemason, an individual must fulfill several key requirements consistent across the Masonic Fraternity.
They must believe in a Supreme Being, demonstrate good moral and ethical character, being law-abiding, virtuous and embodying integrity, honesty and kindness.
Typically, they must be at least 21 years old, though some Lodges accept candidates as young as 18 if they are sons of Member Freemasons. Membership must be sought voluntarily, with candidates applying of their own Free Will and Accord. Recommendations from existing Freemasons are generally required to vouch for the applicant's character.
Additionally, they must meet Financial Obligations, including Initiation Fees, Annual Dues and contributions to Charitable Causes, typically around Rs 20,000 per annum, though this can vary by Lodge.
